Provo Fashion Week Part 2: Hush & Salt and Perfectly Suited by Garth

Tuesday, March 31, 2015

Annnd we're back to Provo Fashion Week! If you missed the first post, it's here

Next up was Hush & Salt, a (awesomely named) collection by Chris Bennett. These suits plus more will be available to shop April 1st (this Wednesday) at www.hushandsalt.com, so make sure to go check out the cute suits!

Hair and makeup were done by Jason Sin, and let me tell ya, he wins. He wins all the prizes. The girls really did look like they had just come striding out of the waves! Skin with a perfect sheen of water, hair that looked tossed with salt and wind and sun, the lightest makeup... Loved it!

▲This is Mallory's friend Elise (hi Elise!) and she WERKED that runway!▲

▲Love the color of this suit, and this girl totally looks like Megan Fox. If I suddenly decided to stop loving food so much, I would be so happy with a bod like that.▲

When we saw Perfectly Suited by Garth Peay was up next on the program, at first I thought, Darn, this is probably going to be boring. I can't wear a man's suit. Bring on the lady fashion.

But NOOO this part of the show was the MOST fun to watch!! The name Perfectly Suited really does perfectly suit this line. I took sooo many pictures of these looks because the tailoring was just impeccable, the fabrics were gorgeous, the styling was amazing...

Mallory side note: Can I just say how refreshing it is to see American-made suits that don't look like a giant baggy tent?....AKA, American-made suits that look European in the fit category. I (Mallory) believe that all "American" fit suits should be burned in a ceremonious giant baggy tent suit pyre. And after said burning every man should immediately obtain a European fit suit which are leagues better than American ones in every aspect possible. I'll step off my soapbox now.

Back to Robyn: Hair was done by The Refinery Barber Shop. They did an excellent job of matching the hair with each look. They were a sublime company to pair with Garth's custom suits, because they too are very serious about customization and creating the perfect look for each client. I checked out their Facebook page and they offer a steam-shave which looks incredibly dreamy. That would be such a cool and unique gift to a guyfriend or significant other for a birthday or for before an event.

▲When this model stepped out, the level of noise in the room went up about five notches. It was hilarious to watch.▲

▲He completely stopped and posed for me so I could get this shot. It was great. And highly amusing.▲

▲Look at how comfy yet classy this corduroy blazer is. And it hits the wrist right where Clinton Kelly from What Not to Wear says it should.▲

▲Dark jeans with a sheen
      Dark jacket with a sheen
Light shirt
Worn by a dark-skinned man with a sheen to his skin
SO BEAUTIFUL.▲

▲Look how the jeans fit his legs. They brush close without squeezing the leg and taper down.▲

▲Just look at this GORGEOUSNESS! That is how your suits should fit dudes! No SAGGY BAGGY ELEPHANT! That is only permissible if you are, in fact, an elephant.▲

▲This outfit totally says Hamptons to me. Hamptons and hydrangea and linen napkins and Catch of the Day and rope and wooden signs hung on chains swinging with coastal movement.▲

▲Say Yes to the Vest.▲

▲SNAZZY lining! I wish Garth would make suits for women too.▲

▲Oooh, this color combo!!▲

▲And those white jeans - look how well they fit in the back, and the way they rolled up the leg to expose just the right bit of ankle.▲

▲Okay, so this model, he knows he's good-looking. He knows he has worked hard on that body. He enjoys the looks he gets. But the amount of attention and buzz he got from that room was enough to make even him lower his eyes to the runway and blush. :)▲

▲See the blush?▲

▲The two girls on the left are toootally snapchatting their friends a pic of him. And the guy in the front - don't know what he is laughing at but the girl looks exasperated. Mal and I had the best time watching people watch him.▲

Which suit suited you best? I really don't think I can pick a favorite!

We've got just a few more collections from PFW for you to ogle over. Stay tuned for Part 3!

Love,

Robyn and Mallory
