The night of the show, Mallory came over to my house and we watched Sherlock Holmes (with Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law (drool))and she did my nails, because I am completely inept at doing my own! Seriously, when I do my nails it looks like a six year old did them!
When it was time to go, we walked since I live quite close to Provo Library. We felt sooo urban and cool strutting the streets with our heels. And of course we had to take a few arrival pics because the architecture of the building is sweet...
▲OMG so excited for Provo Fashion Week!▲
▲Okay, does the guy in black leaning against the wall not look like Adam from Mythbusters?▲
All of the money from the tickets went to the Pomelo Project, an organization dedicated to the support of sex-trafficking survivors. Their mission is to hep survivors become economically self-sufficient and to create a platform where survivors can reach out to support and encourage one another. It was cool to see everyone gathered together to support such a great cause through local designers.
The show opened with with Bree Lena, a collection by Bree Wilkins. I was so excited about seeing her stuff because I already followed her on Instagram. And I was not disappointed; we LOVED her pieces! The hair and makeup was done by Bain Woolstenhulme, Brittany Graff, Jessica de Armas-Guzman. They too did such gorgeous work!
▲There's Stevie Henderson (@steviehender) who also models for Called to Surf, a local boutique. When we saw her we were like, "Oh of course she would be modeling here!"▲
▲Isn't that top beaauuutiful? Love the jewels, the raised print, the glossiness, the colors...▲
▲Here's Chloe (@chloerose___), another Called to Surf model! Those pants need to happen in our lives!!▲
▲Lurving the textured sequins! This was one of our favorite looks of the night▲
▲This dress: YES. This model: YES▲
▲Look at how beautifully that blazer is tailored▲
▲Another model for Piper and Scoot that you might recognize: Kaitlyn (@kaitlynoelle)! The bow detail and the edging?? So pretty and unique!▲
▲The swing of this skirt... seriously dying!▲
Next on the runway was Tessel Supply, designed by Auron Puglisi. His last name makes us think of that Italian Pugliese bread you must get from Costco, warm in the oven and dip in fruity olive oil and herbs...
The collection is actually all in support of the backpack below. Called the Tessel Jet Pack, it its futuristic design is inspired by geometry and stealth fighters. Really cool industrial fabrics were used in this line, yet they all looked so comfy. Puglisi was smart to use an Asian model...Mallory could see these clothes being worn by high-fashion Japanese hipsters. Haha.
Hair and makeup was done by Paul Mitchell the School Provo. They did such a great job with the styling on the female model in particular- perfectly fierce, not overdone and not masculine.
▲The material on that backpack looks so intriguing. I just want to touch it!▲
▲Her skin is flawless▲
▲Digging the little detail at the knee here▲
We were super impressed with both of these designers, but due to the fact that we are girls who love sparkle, sequins, and gold and royal blue, Bree Lena takes the cake for us.
That's it for today since we didn't want to overwhelm you with a ginormous post, but more on Provo Fashion Week will be coming soon! Did you go to Provo Fashion Week? Did you even hear about it before it happened? What are some of your favorite looks so far?
Kiss kiss (we have to be fashiony),
Robyn and Malkin
