Have you guys heard about Ipsy? It's one of those monthly subscription goodie packages! I have been subscribed since September last year and I LOOOVE it. I rave about it all the time and everyone I tell is so intrigued, so I thought I'd do an Ipsy review for you guys!

WHAT: Ipsy is unique and wonderful because it's all about makeup and beauty products - basically frippery in its finest form. And it's an amazing deal. And it's awesome for all us ladies that like to try new makeupy things.

COST: It's only $10 a month with free shipping. The $10 is taken out around the 5th of the month and I honestly do NOT even notice it taken out of my account...It's like a surprise every month when I actually get the package :)

WHEN: I usually receive my Ipsy package around the 15th of the month. There is no greater delight than opening my mailbox and seeing my bright pink envelope in there and I'm sure you other Ipsters feel the same way!

DEETS: When you sign up for Ipsy, you take a beauty profile quiz thing and it helps figure out what your interests are in beauty/makeup, what color your hair and skin is, what brands you love, etc, to help personalize your Ipsy bag and what products you get.
Every month there are around 15-20 different products that Ipsy sends out to all their thousands of subscribers, and you get five every time (you can go online and see what the other products were for that month). Each time you get at least one full-sized product.
I have received so many products that I am in LOVE with and have even bought full sizes of. There is hardly a product that I haven't liked.
OH! And something else I love about Ipsy is that they send you your goodies in a different little makeup bag (like the one in the gif above) every time! Some of them have been uggo, but some have been TOTES adorbs!! Plus, perfect for traveling. Yesssssss.

COMPARISONS: I did Birchbox for four months (which is also $10 but is considered "lifestyle" products instead of makeup/beauty) and ended up switching over to Ipsy because I feel like Ipsy is MUCH more bang for your buck...and I wasn't interested in getting granola bars and teas like I did in Birchbox. Just gimme the makeup, yo.

WAITLIST: Right now to subscribe to Ipsy you have to be on a waitlist for a little while. Our dear friend McCall signed up in January I believe and just got her first Ipsy in April. You can bypass the waitlist by posting Ipsy things on social media though. Tis up to you if you want to clog up the FB feeds of your friends and families for the sake of makeup. I won't judge. I might do it.

Now I'll show you what I got this month!

KCO by Beauty Brands Cream Lipstick in Natural Born Beauty
I actually REALLY like this lipstick. The color is a great dark pinkish nude. It's pretty soft so it doesn't last super long but it's nothing to complain about. Cause it feels good on the lippies. Plus lip products are always my fav things to get in my Ipsys. Quite happy with this one!!

I am the pickiest perfume purchaser ever and was real scared when I saw that I'd gotten a perfume in my bag. It's a miracle: I adore this one! It's a little flowery, a little citrusy, and has hints of vanilla. Clean and fresh. Plus the applicator is a tiny roll-on and will be perfect for in my purse! This perfume ALONE is $21 GUYS! I can't believe it. I'm tellin' you it's so worth it.

Okay YES on the packaging. I do like this color and feel like it's a good dark nude...but it's very similar to some other shadows in my Naked2 Palette. That's my only complaint.

Yesssss another full sized product. Love this blush! It's going to be the perfect pink for summer. AND - this blush alone is $15!! Are you convinced yet?

I'm real picky about my face lotions. It smells a little plasticky and un-fresh but I will probably use it traveling. I do like that it's not greasy. This is the only product in my April bag that I'm not amped about.

Now I shall show you some products I've gotten in past Ipsy bags that I LOVE:

Eye Crayon by Mary Kay At Play
I like lining my lower lid with this soft & pretty blue crayon because it goes well with my hair :)

Bye Bye Under Eye by It Cosmetics
Best concealer I have tried, hands down. It says it's for undereyes, but I use it anywhere on my face. It's pretty thick and conceals SO DANG WELL OMG. This little sample has lasted me for months and once I run out I am absolutely buying the full size.

H2Glo Highlighter by Doll 10 Beauty
This is the first real highlighter I tried back when I got it months ago and I loooOOOOoove it. It's a cream and blends so easily with the fingertips. Such a pretty shimmer and isn't too heavy. I'm totally smitten.

I put this on and instantly decided this was one of the best mascaras I'd ever tried. It's super light and non-clumpy and the applicator gets every lash. Another sample that I'll whole-heartedly buy the full size of when I run out.

What do you guys think? Are you hooked? Here's the website one more time if you want to subscribe (let's be honest, you'd be crazy not to :) )
One of my favorite things about Ipsy is comparing products with my mom and friends that are also subscribed! If you're on Ipsy or if you're signing up, let's compare!!

Happiest Friday to you! xoxo

  1. So glad you posted about this! I love Ipsy & birchbox. If your bloggers ever want to see a comparison or see more awesome glam ipsy products let me know! My fav item I got this month was the Too Faced Melted Peony lipstick, so fun. I was so close to purchasing the perfume you got in your bag... Still thinking about it cuz it smells delightful!
